Equity

Unifor recognizes the valuable contribution of equity-seeking groups within the union. Women, racialized workers, Aboriginal workers, LGBTQ, workers with disabilities, young workers, and others, bring to the union inspiration, innovation and dignity.
Unifor is part of the struggle for women's equality in the workplace, in the community and within the labour movement itself.
Unifor’s equity audit measured the diversity of our membership against the diversity of Unifor leadership at the local and national level.
Social Justice & Humanity Funds Thumb
Unifor is dedicated to improving the lives of workers and their families in Canada and around the world. One way we express that commitment is through our Social Justice Fund. The Unifor Social Justice Fund promotes and supports the role of trade unions and workers groups in their efforts to strengthen democracy, promote equitable development, and contribute to poverty reduction, social justice and education reform.
Unifor’s equity committees produce documents and campaign materials. Download them here.
Unifor is urging all staff, local union executive board members and bargaining committee representatives to propose new Racial Justice Advocates for all workplaces.
