Euila Leonard is the President of Local 2002 and chair of the Unifor Aviation Council. She began working in the Airline in Goose Bay, N.L. as Customer Sales and Service Agent in 1983. Euila has also worked in Charlottetown and the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Halifax, N.S.
In 2003 Euila was elected Vice Chair of her local and was a workplace representative. She has since served as District Chair and the Atlantic Regional Bargaining Committee Representative for Air Canada before being elected as local President.
Euila has taken union courses on collective bargaining, workplace anti-harassment training, conflict resolution, grievance handling and arbitration. She is continuously motivated by her union work after seeing first-hand the disregard that employers have for workers’ rights. Workers in Canada face daily challenges and our union works tirelessly to ensure the balance of power.
Married for 29 years to husband Frank, who has worked at NAV Canada for 37 years, the couple has two grown daughters.
