Dear members,
Your bargaining committee has bargained all day during 8 of the last 10 days, and we’re pleased to report significant progress with the company.
The committee has been focussed on Rules and VIA Rail’s corridor fleet replacement program. If this good bargaining progress continues, we will finalize contract Rules during the early stage of our next session scheduled for the week of November 2, after which we will focus on Local 100 members’ top economic priorities pension, wages, and benefits.
We will have more to report during November’s session. As previously mentioned, resist the temptation to use the employer as a source of information about bargaining—they have their own goals and objectives with their communications.
It is your bargaining committee that is solely focussed on the best interests of all Local 100 members. We are working hard to achieve the best possible contract.
